Executive Summary

Coforma needed a stronger way to communicate its impact to partners, prospective clients, employees, recruits, and peers across the civic technology and digital services space. I helped build and evolve an annual impact reporting practice across two cycles, moving the work from a static year-end update into a multi-format storytelling system. The final approach included a public web report, accessible PDF, internal and external video, social campaign, email distribution, and performance reporting.

Core Problem

The organization had meaningful work to share, but that impact was distributed across projects, teams, and subject matter experts. Without a repeatable reporting practice, it was difficult to gather stories, validate metrics, align stakeholders, and present the work in a way that felt specific, credible, and human. The attached portfolio notes that the project was designed to help Coforma move beyond internal year-end updates and create a durable annual storytelling practice.

Strategic Approach

The strategic question was: How do we show Coforma’s impact in a way that feels specific, credible, and human? I researched peer and competitor impact reports across civic technology, digital services, philanthropy, and mission-driven consulting. That research shaped several decisions: the report needed to be story-forward, work across multiple formats, foreground people impacted by the work, serve multiple audiences, and become repeatable for future years.

Solution & Execution

I helped lead the strategy, production, publishing, and distribution across two reporting cycles. My work included market research, content strategy, story and metrics planning, stakeholder engagement, executive interviews, video scripting, virtual interview recording, in-person b-roll filming, website implementation, social publishing, distribution planning, and reporting. For the 2025 video, I wrote the script, identified interview subjects, recorded leadership interviews, filmed b-roll, sourced supporting assets, and shaped many perspectives into a cohesive narrative.

Deliverables

Impact

The project created a clearer annual rhythm for communicating Coforma’s work and value. The 2024 report established the structure, and the 2025 report expanded it into a richer multimedia experience. Results included two completed annual reports, a stronger repeatable workflow, external social posts that performed above average, an internal video well received by staff and leadership, and an external video reused across multiple contexts.

Why This Project Matters

This project shows the kind of work I want to keep doing: finding meaningful stories inside complex organizations and building the strategy, production process, and publishing infrastructure needed to tell them well.
